Job Title: Construction Truck Driver
The Construction Truck Driver reports to the Production Manager/Transportation Coordinator. This position is responsible for safely moving material between job sites, quarries/pits, and disposal sites. This person will frequently work more than 40 hours per week, and non-traditional hours including Saturdays and Sundays.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates dump trucks to haul asphalt, dirt, trash, rocks, salt, sand and water, and other designated materials.
- May be required to discharge various materials in specific manner to facilitate proper placement.
- Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe manner at all times. This includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry, snow, or ice), and the ability to drive during the daytime or nighttime.
- Verify proper materials are being loaded.
- Fill out daily inspection reports, time reports and load reports.
- Assure maintenance of vehicle
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Production Manager/Transportation Coordinator.
Skills and Specialties
- Good coordination skills are required to operate the vehicle safely, and discharge loads while moving.
- Good peripheral vision to be aware of obstacles and vehicles around you on the jobsite.
- Must be able to properly position the unit or truck to dump materials in measured amounts.
- Able to understand, and write legibly to complete forms and communicate with co-workers.
- Good communication skills. Must be able to share and understand information to assure proper driving patterns, load placement instructions, and safety information.
- Knowledge of proper maintenance of vehicle. This includes lubrication cycles, brake inspection, air brake operation.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or (GED) required.
- Must have a valid CDL and medical card.
- Must be able to pass background check, pre-employment physical, drug test, MVR.
- Previous experience in construction truck driving a plus.

Job Title: Paving Roller Operator
The Paving Roller Operator reports to the Construction Foreman. The primary purpose is to work as a team with the rest of the crew to complete assigned projects or portions of projects to contract specifications. This person will operate paving equipment such as skid loaders, rollers etc. to facilitate this work. This person will frequently work more than 40 hours per week, and non-traditional hours including Saturdays and Sundays.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend daily meeting with foreman to get schedule, duties and special concerns.
- Communicate with crew to organize most efficient plan for getting work done.
- Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life by following all company policies, procedures, federal and state laws.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, ensure safely and securely stored, clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Works with crew to complete paving. This may include shoveling, raking and cleaning up asphalt.
- Operator must deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. Report or defer any complaints to their foreman.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.
Skills and Specialties:
- Knowledge of construction and safety practices.
- Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of construction equipment.
- Knowledge of paving operation, including rolling patterns, achieving specified densities, proper finishing temperature, etc.
- Willing to work in a team atmosphere.
- Able to communicate effectively with crew members, engineers, inspectors and public citizens.
- Operator must have analytical, problem solving, decision making skills, effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.
- Operator must be honest, trustworthy, and respectful, be flexible, demonstrate sound work ethics and deal with the public in a positive, courteous and respectful manner.
Education and Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED; 2 to 5 years’ experience with construction equipment. Must have valid driver’s license, CDL is preferred. Job-related training/license is a plus. Must be able to pass Pre-employment physical and drug test.
